Upper jaw and lower jaw implants

Nowadays dentists around the world are giving up on removable prosthetics (removable dentures) as a treatment method. It does not completely solve none of the aesthetic, multifunctional or psychological issues. Non-removable implant-supported denture systems are an alternative to removable dentures.

What is a “non-removable implant-supported denture system”? In case of complete absence of teeth, a patient is not required to get an implant for each individual tooth. The technology is based on the use of modern titanium implants (in the RIKOTA clinic we use Straumann implants): the denture is attached using implants implanted in the jaw. The minimum number of implants is 4. Increasing the number of implants increases the acceptable chewing impact on the dentures. In total, up to 8 implants can be installed per jaw.

The implant dentures are non-removable. They can only be safely removed by a dentist during a routine examination in the clinic. Moreover, such dentures are very comfortable and are indistinguishable from your own teeth.

• a comfortable and reliable bond allows the patient to quickly get used to the implant-supported denture;
• it does not affect the taste quality, the implant-supported dentures are not easily clogged by food
• the patient may forget about any discomfort when he smiles;
• the intricacies of installing implant-supported dentures allow to achieve a uniform implant impact, thus prolonging the lastingness of the system;
• implant-supported dentures are installed much faster than classical removable dentures.

In cases of both bone and artificial teeth loss, the “All-on-four,” “All-on-six,” “All-on-eight” techniques allow the creating of artificial gums. They are made from a special composite. Ceramic or composite crowns are used to make the denture itself on the lower or upper jaw.

How long does it take to install the implamt-supported system? Dental impression or the scanning and manufacture of a temporary denture happen in one day if the integrated implants have high primary stability (i.e. are firmly attached to the bone at the time of surgery). The temporary system is replaced with a permanent one in 3-6 months. If the primary stability of the implants is not enough, a removable denture is temporarily attached, which is then replaced with a permanent one in 3-6 months.
